HELLO !
Hello, I am Lavanya, a third-year B.Des student at The Design Village. I am a multidisciplinary design student, which is no surprise, as since childhood I have explored many hobbies, and often found moments where the learnings and skills I acquired converged to form something unique. I see design in the same way, as a meeting point of disciplines, narratives, and contexts that create impact.

I enjoy working across mediums that allow me to listen, observe, and build meaning through stories. I believe that any design with a story is more grounded, its message better delivered, and its purpose clearer to the audience. For me, this is not about pretty words or naively idealising the world, but about efficiency. Whether I am documenting communities, exploring cultural narratives, or designing for social impact, I aim to approach my work with care and clarity.

I’m glad you decided to spend some time here. If you find yourself intrigued, I invite you to explore the projects section of the website to better understand my work.
About Me

Portfolio Concept
This portfolio is inspired by the language of flowers, where each work is represented by a flower. Every flower embodies the core idea of a project and the learning that grew from it.

Each flower is chosen intentionally. The lotus represents Chaupar, symbolising resilience and the act of rising above centuries of colonisation and loss of identity. The lily for Samuday reflects purity and devotion, mirroring the sincerity of the process and the human exchanges at its core. Cherry blossoms represent Gababee, symbolising renewal, hope, and the beauty of growth through care

The opening image of me surrounded by these flowers reflects my journey as a designer shaped by deep engagement. Each project adds to my experience and knowledge. And allows me to show up next time, better equipped.
